在分享的同時，我也想要討論關於出國「開拓視野」，「增廣國際觀」這樣的說詞。
老實說，我自己覺得那些所謂的開闊視野，增廣國際觀這些說詞，其實都太過空泛、抽象。
現在台灣的資訊如此發達，我並不覺得一定要出國才能接觸到新的資訊或了解不同的種族文化。我有很多的學員也從來都沒有出國過，但是他們源源不絕的求知慾，鞭策著他們持續的學習，他們的創造性、思辨思維，一點也不會輸給我教過的外國學生。
那到底出國的意義是什麼 ?
出國，走出舒適圈，你會遇見不一樣的自己。
在同一個地方生活久了，對於周遭的一切就會有了期望值，覺得事情能夠像自己想得一樣發展和進行，大多時候也是如此。於是，我們常常會忘記，甚至忽略一些自己其他的面向與潛力。
Gary的分享描繪出很具體、務實的外國求學生活。
時間過得很快，我記得才聽他說收到英國倫敦大學（University College London）的unconditional offer，一轉眼他已經在UCL生活。在那裡，他認識了BBC 的記者。他班上的同學來自社會科學與醫療產業的背景，再加上Gary自己有媒體與IT 的工作經驗，這三種看似不相干的領域，卻開啟了為這世界做出更美好改變的無限可能性。
每一次接觸不同的人文，你可以觀察到不同國家的人是如何看待世界、看待你，甚至是看待你從小生長的地方。
國外生活中有太多的未知數。
某些時候，這些意料之外的火花更能讓你收穫更多，更推著你勇敢嘗試、不要設限。
也因為這樣你會更願意從多種可能性中探索中找到自己的定位，進而了解自身優勢，也學習欣賞別人的與眾不同。
你對自己會有更多的認知，知道自己還能有其他的可能，以後的發展道路自然會寬一些。
認識不一樣的自己，遠比開拓對外的視野更重要。

In the past 50 days, I’d say my life in London’s been somewhat busy, fulfilling and miraculous. To recap my days, I finished my first ever marathon, I started networking with some BBC journalists here, and I’m in a writing project aiming to promote more cultural understandings between British born Chinese and Chinese mainlanders. My life seems to be not so fun but I really like it, feeling so great about my growth.
Speaking of my school life, the courses I’m doing is just beyond amazing: most of the faculty members and my schoolmates either have a strong background in social science or are front-line health care workers; together with my background in tech and media, we have really nice interdisciplinary and cross-cultural conversations in our seminars and each of us is having a clearer picture of what we want to do for a healthier and better world.
If you had told me that my life could be this fulfilling and meaningful when the whole world was still clouded by the fear of the pandemic, I might have said it just sounds impossible for me. But somehow in this year, I’ve found myself is gradually making some impossibles into not just possible but my reality. All I want to say to you is that it is all thanks to your big push to make my life so different. One lesson I’ve learned from working with you during the pandemic is that no matter how chaotic the world seems to be, having a clear goal in mind would illuminate us to navigate through all the chaos and to get to where we want to go.
Words really fail to express my gratitude. All I could say is thanks.
